Cliffe Herefords
Cliffe Herefords began in 1999 with 10 Springhill cattle from Mr Downton. Since then I have built up slowly using Westlake, Tynewood and Llandinabo bulls. My herd is a closed herd.
My cattle live on Salisbury Plain which is Ministry of Defence land. They live next door to my herd of White Parks in the middle of fairly intensive army training. They are out wintered in testing conditions but cope very well and are a very hardy breed.
I now have a herd of 30 pedigree females and some followers. I have just begun to sell my own meat which is hung between 21 and 28 days. My customers appreciate the taste and texture of the Traditional Hereford beef.
