New breeders and first-time Hereford exhibitors Patrick and Esther Lynn certainly made a splash on the show circuit in their debut year, bagging all three available Traditional Hereford Breed Championships at the Royal Welsh Spring Festival (judged by Mr G Blandford), Shropshire County (Mr G Cox) and the Royal Three Counties (Mr M Chandler) with homebred in-calf heifer Hockerwood Lucy; sired by the prolific stock bull Boresisle Lawrence. Having only begun the Hockerwood herd in 2016 alongside a large egg farming enterprise on their farm near Newark, the Lynn family now own around 40 head of pedigree Traditional Herefords. With this year’s successes under their belt, we look forward to seeing what’s to come from them in the future.
