Congratulations to all of the members who competed in the first annual Traditional Hereford Breeders' Club Herd Competition, judged this year by the Powys Hereford Breeders' Association Secretary Glenn Pritchard, New Tredegar. Members from all over the UK offered up their breeding herds for the on-farm judging, and below are a few comments from our judge, along with his placings and a selection of photos from the trip.
"It was an honour being asked to judge the inaugural Herd of the Year competition for the Traditional Hereford Breeders' Club. The quality and uniformity of the cattle we saw was outstanding, and shows that Traditional Herefords do exceptionally well on grass alone. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Club and the breeders for allowing us this great pleasure."
