Taking place at the Royal Norfolk Show on Thursday 25 June, the Norfolk Rural Business Awards recognised nine category areas aimed at showcasing a wide range of Norfolk's best businesses, community groups and people.

Winning the Best Emerging Talent category was young Traditional Hereford breeder Maxwell Eagle, who impressed the judges with his "desire and determination to build his Wissey herd of Traditional Herefords from scratch, he oozed passion for cattle and his knowledge of the breed was very clear. Maxwell is an active member of the Hereford Cattle Society and managed to get a face-to-face meeting with DEFRA - no easy thing to do - to discuss the breed and the importance of its survival. He's a breath of fresh air within the livestock sector and a deserving winner."

Maxwell, along with his sister Imogen, were also attending the show with cattle from their Wissey herd, competing in the Any Other Native Beef Breeds section and winning the class for heifers born in 2024 with their homebred entry Wissey Dowager Faye.
